Registered Doctor of TCM (Dr. TCM)/B.Sc. in Pharmacy/ MSc and PhD in TCM

Dr Chung has been teaching in TCM and Naturopathic schools in the US and Canada since 1995.

His professional knowledge of both TCM and western medicine, and his personal attributes have made him a well-known TCM practitioner in both the Chinese and mainstream communities.

Dr Chung is passionate about advancing the professional education and practice of TCM in Canada. Dr Michael Chung's expertise and professionalism is well-recognised by authorities in his industry.

Tung’s Extraordinary Acupuncture System (T.E.A.S) uses an ancient divergent approach to acupuncture. Previously solely handed down through the Tung family, Tung acupuncture was shared to the world when Master Tung Ching-Chang took on disciples and published a book.

A system evolved in Taiwan, it includes several hundred unique points, some of which crossover with the Zang Fu meridians. The method uses fewer needles and delivers instant results. Dr Michael Chung shaped the course into 4 segments, following the sequence of Human, Earth, Heaven, and the Dao levels. 

Dr Michael Chung has studied Tung’s Extraordinary Acupuncture System for more than 27 years with Dr. Wei-chieh Young, who is part of the direct and genuine lineage of Master Tung. Adopted as a disciple in 1991, he is one of the few close students of Dr Young. 

He currently holds a TCM practice in West Vancouver, BC and dedicates his spare time to educating others on Tung acupuncture. The past 3 decades has brought him around the world to spread his knowledge in workshops. He has taught in Taiwan, China, the US, Canada, and co-taught in Australia, Germany, Malaysia, New York, Los Angeles, Portland, San Jose, Guangzhou, and Taipei.

The Ordre of Acupuncture of Quebec has invited him to conduct the full series of Tung’s Acupuncture workshops and he has now trained over 200 Quebec acupuncturists.
